Rachel Loesch, D.V.M. at Bothell Animal Hospital

Dr. Rachel Loesch, DVM

Dr. Rachel grew up in the Midwest – born and raised in Green Bay, WI (and yes, that makes her a Packer fan!). She graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science. She then attended veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and graduated in early 2013. Dr. Rachel practiced veterinary medicine at a small animal hospital in West Virginia for about 2 years before moving out to Washington and becoming an associate veterinarian at North Creek Pet Hospital.

Dr. Rachel’s specific interests include small animal medicine, preventative care, and training or behavioral medicine. She also teaches a puppy socialization class at the hospital. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two shelter dogs - Minsi, a 6 year old terrier mix and Mia, a 4 year old spaniel mix - hiking, running, reading, spending time with friends, baking and traveling.

Heather Smith, D.V.M. at Bothell Animal Hospital

Dr. Heather Smith, DVM

Hello, my name is Dr. Heather Smith and I am thrilled to join the North Creek Pet Hospital team as a practicing veterinarian and managing doctor. I'd like to share a little about my background and vision with you. I moved to the Seattle area with my family in 1990 when my father accepted a job with Boeing. I graduated from Redmond High School and then went on to earn my Bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of Washington. I completed my DVM degree and graduated magna cum laude from Washington State University in 2003. I am lucky to be one of those people who is happy regardless of the annual Apple Cup outcome! I share my life with my husband, 2 children, and a rambunctious little Boston Terrier named Betty Bean. When away from work I enjoy running, watching TV and movies, and watching my children play sports. I also do quite a lot of "chauffeur work" to and from my kids’ practices and games! My family and I call the neighborhoods around North Creek Pet Hospital home. I am very excited to be practicing in my own backyard and hope to remain as part of our community and this clinic for many years to come. I have been practicing on the Eastside since graduation and have had the opportunity to work in several different types of practices. I began my career at this very hospital working under its founder, Dr. Jon Bruhn. After a year, I moved on to gain different practice experiences, and I am excited to bring this varied experience and knowledge back with me to North Creek Pet Hospital. I strive to provide excellent medical care with compassion, and to treat all my patients as if they were my own. I tackle veterinary medicine using a team approach where my clients and I work together to figure out these amazing pets that trust us to care for them. I am really looking forward meeting all of you, my teammates, and to helping you care for your furry family members!
